Hello! My name is Jessica and I believe bookstores are some of the most magical manmade destinations of our times.

I didn’t fall in love with books until I was in the 5th grade. When I started reading I had a 1st grade reading level. I struggled to read Little Golden Books. When I found the worlds that made my imagination soar I began to devour anything I could get my hands on. Reading became one of my biggest passions. Scholastic Fair was the first time I was surrounded by books I could buy. I was in heaven!

Bookstores feed my soul. If I’m having a bad day I go to a bookstore. If I’m having a good day I go to a bookstore. If I’m not sure what to do I go to a bookstore. I follow Youtube channels, Instagram accounts and book podcasts. For my 35th birthday I went on a week long bookstore themed road trip. I love a hyper specific project and this blog is my next endeavor.

I want to showcase the amazing locations that feed my passion and speak to the wonderful people who make them what they are. I live in the Midwest and have watched as more and more bookstores have popped up around me. There are so many ‘hidden’ gems here in the Midwest. They bring real joy and community to the neighborhoods that house them. So please enjoy as we take a look around the bookstores of the Midwest.
